General Info
Welcome to the 2024 Middle School Aerial Drone Competition Championship
This is our pilot year of having a Middle School Only Championship, so space is limited! Once this event is full, teams will be directed to attend their Regional Championship.
Please note: Middle School Teams may attend either the Middle School Championship or their Regional Championship but can not attend both Championships.
This event will recognize Middle School teams from all around the country. This event is open to any Middle School Aerial Drone Competition Team that has earned one of the following awards at a qualifying event.
*** Bring your swim suit!!!! All Teams are invited to attend the University of TN Indoor Water Park and don't forget to bring all of the participants signed waiver to participate!

Additional invitations will be issued based on Global Skills Ranking Scores and space availability. Invitations to this Championship event will be sent out Dec 1, 2023, Jan 2, 2024, Feb 1, 2024 and March 17, 2024. Teams may also add themselves to the waitlist and may be invited based on space availability.

Due to the financial commitment on the part of the event partner, no refunds will be possible. Thank you for your understanding.
Health and Safety Policies
All events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. We will continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary.

- Facility Rental Date: Thursday, May 16th, 2024
- Arrival Time: 8:00 p.m.
- Swim Time: 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Departure Time: 10:00 p.m. - 10:20 p.m.
Items Before The Event:
- All participants (including non-swimmers) must sign the attached waiver before arriving. Minors will need to have their parents or guardians sign on their behalf. The waivers may be given to the rental Host upon arrival.
- Please review all of the event details with the guests
- Please review the event details with the other teachers, parents, chaperones, etc.
Additional Aquatic Facility Information:
All guests must follow all pool rules, including:
- Snacks cannot be eaten in the pool
- No Running
- All persons on the pool deck and/or swimming in the pool must have on proper swim attire
- All infants/toddlers that require a diaper must wear swimmer diapers and proper swimwear
- Street clothes or revealing swim wear, cut-off jeans, jeans, skirts, shorts, sport bras, leotards, leggings, dri-fit wear, compression shorts and
compression shirts are prohibited. Underwear and undergarments are not allowed to be worn under swimsuits.
- No swimmers are permitted on the islands
- One swimmer on the slide at one time
- The Spa will be closed to minors.Swim Test: UTC Campus Recreation is committed to providing a safe and fun experience for
all of our guests. As a part of this commitment, youth 12 and under are required to take a brief
swim test. The swim test will be conducted by lifeguards immediately upon arrival. Youth who
pass the swim test will be given a green breakaway swim necklace and allowed to use all
swimming pool features. Youth who do not pass, or opt out of taking the swim test, will be
given a red breakaway swim necklace and will be required to wear a life jacket when using the
waterslide, tube-plunge, and lap pool. US Coastguard approved life jackets will be available for
use. All swim necklaces will be collected at the end of the rental.Event Details: The ARC Staff will meet the group at the arrival point in front of the ARC. The
group will be ushered into the courts for group instructions by the Building Manager and
Aquatics Event Host. The group will go through the locker-room to change clothes. They will
need to take their belonging with them to the pool and place them in the designated location. A
ten-minute warning will be issued prior to the end of the facility rental time. At that time, the
group will need to exit, gather belongings and change clothes in the locker-room.
Teachers / Chaperones: One teacher per class is required. Two teachers or Chaperones must
accompany the students into the locker-rooms at all times in either men’s or women’s locker
room. For greater privacy, family and gender neutral restrooms are located on the third floor for
your convenience. We ask that teachers and chaperones engage the students for behavior issues
while maintaining an accurate headcount. Students must be accompanied at all times by
teachers and chaperones to ensure that students don’t separate from the group.WiFi Access: To create a self-registered account, connect to the "UTC" wireless network or an
Ethernet jack on the wall. An attempt to browse the web will result in a redirection to the
registration portal. On the portal there is a "Visiting Guests" link, after which the resulting page
will show another link "Sign up your own account". Self-registered accounts require a name,
email, phone number, and a reason for the visit. The phone number must be a real number. The
account access code will be sent as a text message to the phone number.

Judging Format
In Person Team Interviews
Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event in the pit area in the morning during the skills competition.
Competition Logbook
Competition Logbook: A digital Competition Logbook (or scanned copy of a written notebook) must be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents by 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 2nd, 2023 if you want it considered for judging. The notebook is only shared with event staff, including the Event Partner, Judge Advisor, and Judges, and may include the REC Foundation Support Team.
