Welcome to the 2023 Aerial Drone Competition Regional Championship: Ingenuity in Michigan!

Registration Information:

  • Teams will be able to register for ONE (1) Championship event.  Choose carefully, once registered, teams will NOT be allowed to change to another location.

  • Teams that register for an Aerial Drone Championship, on or before February 28, 2023, will have four weeks to register and pay by credit card, check or PO for the Championship event. 

  • Teams that register on or after March 1, 2023, will have two weeks to register and pay by credit card, check or PO for the Championship event.
     

Mandatory Participant Release Forms: 

  • All participants must have a Participant Release Form on file. 

  • It is the responsibility of the Team’s Primary Contact to make sure this occurs. 

  • A link to the instructions on how to submit a Participant Release Form is found here.

Competition Logbook: 

  • A digital Competition Logbook (or scanned copy of a written notebook) must be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link 5:00 pm on Monday, May 8th, 2023 if you want it considered for judging. 

  • Link to upload is found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents via the instructions here.

  • The notebook is only shared with event staff, including the Event Partner, Judge Advisor, and Judges, and may include the REC Foundation Support Team. 

  • Details on this process are given in the Judge Guide Addendum.

Inspection: 

  • Inspection will occur at the beginning of the tournament. 

  • Please be prepared and ensure that your drone will pass inspection BEFORE the competition by reviewing the Inspection Checklist.
     

Interviews: Registered teams will be interviewed in person at the event.

Pre-Order Food Vouchers:

  • Orders must be placed ONLINE by noon on Thursday, May 11, 2023, so we have enough time to pick them up from the Dining Services office before the event.

  • You will need to purchase a Voucher for each Lunch you plan to eat at the Learning Commons:

    • Saturday Lunch

    • Sunday Lunch

  • Pre-order vouchers for all-you-can-eat lunch (one time through) at the Kettering Battenburg Cafe in the NEW Learning Commons are available for purchase on Kettering's Site

  • The cafe offers a wide variety of food (including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and more) and beverages for $10.00 per person

  • Vouchers have no expiration date - if you plan to attend future events at Kettering, you will be able to use leftover vouchers at that time.

  • Outside food is permitted in both the Rec Center and Learning Commons, but there will NOT be a dedicated place or plugs for your Team to set up your own food service. Sternos or other warming devices are NOT permitted.

  • Vouchers will be available at the Registration Table when you arrive at the Rec Center.


Early Load-In and Campus Tours: 

  • When: Friday, May 12, 2023

  • Why: Early Load-in Campus Tour offers your team the opportunity to combine a campus tour with the thrill of competition. This is a great opportunity for teams traveling from in and out of state! 

  • What’s Included: Teams who participate in the campus tour will be served complimentary pizza and beverages after the tour. Teams may then load in their pit supplies. Then all you have to do on Saturday is show up ready to compete! 

  • There are a limited number of tour openings, so it's important to register quickly.
