Hello my team has been working since May and they have run out of room in their bound engineering notebook. We have started a second book continuing their work. We are turning them in together. Is this allowed and what is the best practice for this?

Hello my team has been working since May and they have run out of room in their bound engineering notebook. We have started a second book continuing their work. We are turning them in together. Is this allowed and what is the best practice for this?

Yes a second notebook is allowed. Make sure the team number is clearly marked on the cover of all engineering notebooks. Use a numbering system on the cover as well to help the judges: 1 of 2, 2 of 2. If you end up with more than 2 you can cross out the 2 and write 3 on each of the notebooks, etc. We suggest using a large binding clip to clip them together or a large rubber band to wrap around them.

If the bound notebooks are 3-hole punched you may also place them in a large 3-ring binder. As long as all of the notebooks are bound, placing them in a 3-ring binder for the convenience of the judges is allowed and they are still considered bound notebooks with respect to the rubric.
