General Info

Southern California Magikid Girl Powered Workshop

Event Introduction

Magikid, a robotics education brand created by many dedicated mothers, has always been passionate about supporting and encouraging girls to delve into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and actively participate in robotics activities and competitions. We understand that when girls first step into the world of robotics, they often find themselves in a male-dominated environment. To provide a welcoming and inspiring first experience, Magikid has been actively involved in organizing Girl Powered Workshops since 2022.

In both 2023 and 2024, Magikid proudly won the IQ division championship at the Girl Powered event hosted at Google headquarters. We also organized up to 10 Girl Powered Workshops across different regions, where students, guided by experienced mentors and coaches, embarked on their first robotics competition journeys. This year, we continue our unwavering commitment to empowering girls through the Girl Powered Workshop.

Event Schedule

This year's event, hosted by our headquarters and organized by the Tustin Lab, includes:

  1. Engaging Robotics and Programming Education

Dive into the fascinating world of robotics and programming through interactive and fun lessons designed to spark a passion for STEM.

  1. Inspirational Talks by Top Female Robotics Team Members

Hear from accomplished female robotics team members as they share their experiences and insights, inspiring newcomers to pursue their own robotics dreams.

  1. Growth Stories from a NASA Female Scientist

A special guest from NASA will share her personal journey and achievements in the field of science, motivating girls to chase their own aspirations.

  1. Building Your First Competition Robot

Under the guidance of professional coaches, participants will design, build, and complete their very own competition robot, gaining hands-on experience from concept to creation.

  1. Simulated Competition and Awards Ceremony

Experience the thrill of a robotics competition through a simulated event, and celebrate the achievements of all participants with awards and certificates for outstanding performance.
