General Info
Welcome to an exciting and fast paced event. This year's competition, Over/Under, is a challenging, exhilarating, and speedy game. Teams should expect be be prepared for competitive action as soon as they check-in. Below are a few thoughts on how to be best prepared for success at Bots & Bolts
For all rules, please consult the VEX Robotics website. Teams will be expected to know and apply all rules, to include but not limited to, team organization and management, engineering notebooks, and robot builds compliance.
Recommended Actions
A). Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist prior to the competition. Make sure to check the official VEX forums for rules updates and changes.
B). Review the information contained in the tournament posting on RobotEvents.com
C). Prepare your robot, spare parts, safety items (e.g., safety glasses, engineering notebook, gloves, spare parts, tools, cables, batteries, chargers, laptops, swag)
D). Review the descriptions and criteria for awards.
E). Prep for your interviews with the judges.
F). SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks. Wear all appropriate safety gear when working with tools and robot parts.
G. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.
LATE Arrivals
Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event.
Team Payment
Teams must be paid two weeks prior to the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped at the Event Partner's discretion to allow teams in from the wait list.

This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Volunteer
As this a new adventure for our team we would love any and all help we can get. Prior to the event, please provide contact information for two representatives that could volunteer at the event. We may need assistance with field set up, resetting fields, scoring, pit management, or tear down.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event of projected bad weather, the Host will use all available data to make a health and safety decision 24hrs prior to event execution via contact information provided during registration. In the event of unanticipated bad weather or emergencies, we will notify all participants via contact information provided at registration as soon as possible. The location of the event cannot be rescheduled to an alternate date. Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner (EP) cancels the event due to EP error/fault a full refund will be provided. If the EP is compelled to cancel the event due to weather or unforseen emergency a partial refund will be provided comensurate with costs expended prior to unforeseen event.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: no refund will be given
Health and Safety Policies

Pits are located at picnic benches outdoors uncovered. Please plan accordingly.
The tournament will be held indoors in a gymnasium.

Judging Format
All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
