General Info

This event size is 36 teams

The VEX Robotics Competition at Germana's Daniel Technology Center will be a 36 team tournament for middle and high school teams. Teams should expect to have 6 qualifcation matches and 3 opportunities per robot skills challenge. Expect the eliminations to have 8 alliances of 2. 

The event is in a large multi-use room that is just ahead once you enter the building and walk down the hallway. Parking is readily available and the event is free to spectators.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

    • Practices and Inspection
    • Skills Open at 10:30am
  • 10:15 am - Opening Ceremony
  • 10:30 am - Qualification matches (2 matches)
  • 12:00 pm - Lunch Break
  • 12:30 pm - Qualification Matches (4 matches)
  • 3:30 pm - Final Matches 
  • 4:15 pm - Awards

Volunteer

We need the following volunteers for the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) 

  • 2 scorekeeper for VRC (No Experience needed)
  • 8 Judges  (No Experience needed)
  • 3 Computer Operators (No Experience needed)
  • 2 Referees each (Advanced training required)

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of storm or other event that may cancel the tournament, we will update this page and will anounce it on our Culpeper Robotics Facebook page. If Germana Community College closes we will cancel the event. There is no alternative date. In the event of a cancellation teams will receive a $80 refund.

Refund and Payment Policies

Teams may cancel their registration through 2023 at no cost. Teams cancelling in 2023 by 1/22/24 will receive a $50 refund. Teams who need to cancel after 1/22/24 will not receive a refund.

Judging Format

 

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
