General Info

Nowata schools is so excited to host the Ironmen Invitational!  To qualify for this event your team must have competed with the Nowata VRC teams at some point this season or in a past season, and you need to have made a positive impact or impression on us.  If you do not receive an invitation for this even, and want to be considered please feel free to register or join the waitlist and send an email to the event partner. 

As a special thank you to the great teams in Oklahoma we will be giving out numerous extra awards!  We will give out a total of 14 awards in the Middle School division including the Excellence Award, Tournament Champions, Design Award, Robot Skills Champion, Judges Award, Innovate Award, Think Award, Amaze Award, Build Award, Create Award, Sportsmanship Award, Energy Award, and the Inspire Award!

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer

If each organization could provide a single volunteer, that would help immensely in ensuring the competition runs smoothly, and that every team is represented at the event.  Please have your team's volunteer email me ASAP, but no later than the Thursday before the competition so that they can be assigned a job.

If they have a preference or experience in a particular job have them please let me know in the email.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of an emergency or bad weather we will attempt to reschedule and team contacts will be notified.  

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

If the event is canceled due to not enough teams then all teams will be refunded thier registration fees (mius the $5 RECF Fee).  If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions the event will attempt to be rescheduled.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will not be given except under the most unavoidable circumstances.  Be sure to check scheduling conflicts prior to registration.  In the case of emergencies, registration may be applied towards a future event hosted by Nowata.  Please contact the event partner ASAP if something comes up.

Health and Safety Policies

Masks or other face coverings and social distancing are highly encouraged.  Gloves will be worn by all staff and volunteers in the concession stand.  If you have exhibitted any symptoms of COVID-19, or been around anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19, please get a negative test before coming to our event. We want to make sure to stop the spread of this virus as much as possible.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
