Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Volunteer

Volunteer Coordinator: TBD

Experience Level: No Previous experience is needed for most volunteer positions.

Time Commitment: You can register for an entire day, or just a portion of the day as your schedule permits for most positions.

Meals: Lunch and hospitality area provided for all volunteers.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, coaches will be contacted via email.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event: 

  • Refunds will be issued ASAP via working within the regulations of my school board. Reason(s) for cancellation will be disseminated to coordinating individuals representing participating teams/programs. Refund amount will be full registration fee minus 10% (10% covers the $5 RECF processing fee and any miscellaneous handling fee).

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than a week before the competition. Refunds will be sent out around 6 weeks from the event who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through robotevents we must receive the funds from robotevents first, this some times takes 3-6 months. Refund from robotevents will deduct 10%.

Judging Format

  •  Printed Engineering Notebook Submissions: Engineering notebooks will be turned in upon arrival at tournament.
  •  In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.
