General Info

Bears Robotics Friday Night Fever High Stakes will be held on Friday January 31, 2025 in the Main Gym at Chittenango High School.  

A concession stand will be open throughout the event selling snacks and drinks.

NEW THIS YEAR:  Your tournament entry includes a large cheese pizza, six bottled waters, six bags of chips, and six granola bars.

There will be a designated spectator area, and the competitions will be streamed live on the Chittenango Schools HUDL page.

Teams affiliated with the New York North region will be given preference in the registration process.  Any teams that register for the event from outside of the New York North region will be placed on the waitlist until January 24, 2025 to assure that local teams have had ample opportunity to register for local events.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

4:30pm - Qualifying Matches Begin

6:30pm - Qualifying Matches finish, skills closes

6:45pm - Alliance Selection

7:pm - Elimination Matches

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, the event partners will make every attempt to announce the cancelation of the event by 5pm the day before.

Teams will be notified by email if the event is canceled.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

A full refund of any funds received by the event partners will be issued to participating teams.  Please know that funds that go to the REC Foundation and are not received by the event partners are not refundable.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

The event partners will make every attempt to honor refund requests if teams notify the event partners prior to 1/17/2025.  If a team can be replaced with someone from the waitlist, a refund will be issued.

Refunds cannot be issued to registered teams who fail to attend the event with no prior notification.

 

 

Health and Safety Policies

Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the venue for participants to use.

Participants are expected to use proper judgement when performing work on their robots, and appropriately use safety glasses as necessary.

Safety glasses are required when ringside for all matches, when using the practice arena, and when participating in the skills competition.

Travel Info

The event will be held in the main gymnasium of Chittenango High School.  

Enter through the Athletic Entrance to CHS, which is on the North side (back) of the building.

A map will be emailed to advisors with more details.

There will be plenty of parking available for buses & other vehicles.

The tournament will be streamed live on the Chittenango Schools HUDL page.

Judging Format

 

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
