General Info

Miami-Dade District of Army Instructions are delighted to host Make it Happen” the 2024-25 VEX 5 High Stakes Competition at Coral Gables Senior High School in the Gym. The event will be in person and open to 40 teams.  This event will be limited to two teams per organization. Once the event is full, a waiting list will be created for teams who were unable to register.

All participants are expected to complete the participant release form . (also available in Spanish)  Once per season covers all events.

On-site parking is free.
 

All teams need to be checked in by the end of the inspection. 
 

Team Payment: Teams must be paid two weeks prior to the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped at the event partner's discretion to allow teams in from the wait list.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Skills field opens at 8:45

Inspections COMPLETE at 9 (Again, this is FIRM--bring robots ready to compete)

Driver's meeting 9:15

Qualification Matches Begin 9:30

Lunch break 11:30-12:15

Qualification Matches Continue 12:15

Skills field closes at the end of the last Qualification match.

Alliance Selection 2:30

Elimination Matches begin at 2:45pm

Awards 4:00pm

The event will be held in the School's Gym. Park in the Schools parking lot and proceed to the gym.

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.
