General Info

Thank you for your interest in participating in Windsor Charter Academy's Firebird Feud! 

If the event is "full" and would like to participate, please put your team in the waitlist. We will place waitlisted teams into the event on September 3rd to fill any unpaid spots. 

This tournament will have qualification matchesalliance selection, and an elimination bracketSkills challenges will be available to teams once they have passed inspection, until 2:00 p.m. 

There will be a one hour lunch break. Concessions will be available throughout the tournament, including pizza by the slice for lunch.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

7:30 Doors Open/ Check-In/ Inspection (Must be done by 8:45)

8:00 A.M./Full Day Volunteer Training

8:45 Drivers/Coaches Meeting

9:00-12:30 Skills Challenge Opens  (3 Auto/3 Driver Controlled Attempts Max)

9:00 Begin Qualification Rounds

12:30-1:30 Lunch

1:00 P.M. Volunteer Training

1:30 Resume Qualification Rounds

1:30-2:30 Resume Skills Challenge (Closes at 2:30 pm, no exceptions)

2:00 End Qualification Rounds

2:30 Alliance Selection

2:45 Elimination Rounds Begin

4:00 Awards Ceremony

Volunteer

Volunteers are needed! We are asking organizations to provide at least one volunteer per registered team in order to help the tournament run smoothly. Please sign up HERE. Thank you!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of INCLEMENT WEATHER (as determined by the Weld Re-4 school district) the tournament will be canceled and no refunds will be available.

Refund and Payment Policies

Payment Deadline:

Payments for this tournament are due the Saturday prior to the event @ 4:00 PM MST


If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Full refunds will be given, minus the $5.00 non-refundable RobotEvents fee.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Withdrawing from the tournament?  You must notify Casey Hicks at [email protected] at least 2 weeks prior to the event date. Refunds will only be available up to two weeks prior to the event, minus the $5.00 non-refundable RobotEvents fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations less than two weeks prior to the event.

 

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Submission DEADLINE for notebooks is November 7th at 4:00 p.m. (MST).
