General Info

Modesto Robotics and Technology is excited to host the Bay Area High Stakes VEX V5 Robotics Competition #2 in East Palo Alto

We will have a full VEX Tournament featuring two competition fields, a skills field, and a practice field.

There are currently  48 slots for this tournament, and a maximum of 6 teams per organization are allowed. Make sure you are marked as paid (or PO received) two weeks in advance or you may be replaced with a team from the waitlist.

Check-in will be at 7:30 am, sharp. Teams must be checked in 60 minutes before the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event.

Teams must be paid by September 13. Teams not paid at this time will be moved to the waiting list.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event must be cancelled because of bad weather it will be rescheduled with the next acceptable date.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: Teams will be given a choice of moving to another event sponsored by the Event Partner or a refund minus $5 will be provided.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend: There is no refund, however, the event partner will do their best to accommodate moving the team to another event they are hosting. Event Partner will only allow for one date change. 

 

Judging Format

 

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In-Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link in the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
