Welcome to the Middletown High School VEX Robotics High Stakes Qualifier. This event will bring together teams from around New England and is a qualifier for the Connecticut State Championship.

Concessions will be available all day.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

7:15 - 8:30 Registration and inspection

8:30 - 9:00 Drivers meeting, Announcements and introductions

9:15 - 12:30 Qualification Rounds

12:30 -12:45 Alliance Selection

1:00 - 4:00 Elimination Rounds & Championship Rounds

4:00 Awards

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather changes to the schedule will be emailed to team contacts.

Options:

1. Event opening may be delayed to allow for travel.

2. Event may be cancelled due to the weather.

Announcements will go out by 6:00 am.

All teams are encouraged to use their best judgement when deciding to attend.

If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather or Covid, refunds less any event partner expenses will be processed by Middletown Robotics.

Refund and Payment Policies

Payment:

Any teams not marked paid in robotevents by the registration deadline of Saturday January 11 will be moved to the waitlist. Teams waiting to register will be notified until event capacity is filled.

Refund Policy:

Refunds will be available to teams requesting registration cancellation 14 or more days prior to the event.  No other refunds will be processed.  If the event is cancelled, refunds (less event partner expenses) will be processed by Middletown Robotics. The $5 Processing fee collected by the REC Foundation will be deducted from all refunds.

Judging Format

In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
