General Info

Thank you for your interest in VEX at the Nest. We here at St. Benedict at Auburndale High School and Christian Brothers University look forward to hosting you at our wonderful tournament. We will contact registered teams closer to the event with more details, including directions, campus maps, times, and food ordering information.

Participants are also required to submit the VEX liability release form electronically.

Physical notebooks must be submitted for judging. Please print out digital notebooks and put them in a binder for submission.

The team registration fee must be paid by January 17, 2025. Any teams who have not paid by then will be moved to the waitlist unless prior arrangements are made with St. Benedict at Auburndale High School.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to a successful tournament. Please consider volunteering. Volunteers will receive any training necessary and a full day of inspiration working with incredibly talented youth. No prior experience is necessary. Each team will be asked to provide ONE volunteer willing to help run the tournament.

Volunteers will receive snacks, lunch, and coffee on the day of the event. 

Some positions such as Judge Advisor and Head Referee have additional requirements.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, notice of cancellation will be made via email.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will only be made if the event is canceled by the Event Partner. Refunds will not include the $5 processing fee assessed by Robot Events for processing.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Registrations will not be refunded for teams that register but choose not to come. 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges. Any digital notebooks must be printed out and placed in a binder before judging. We will not take digital submissions.
