General Info

Reseda High School and the Reseda Regents Robotics Team are delighted to host the "10th Annual Reseda High School’s VEX Victory in the Valley Tournament” featuring the VEX High Stakes Game. The event is open to 36 middle or high school VEX teams. This year's event will be indoors, in the South Gym.

We will not be offering a meal plan for teams. Still, there will be a concession stand selling prepackaged items, and many food options in the Reseda community surrounding the campus are available.

There will be two competition fields, a Skills Challenge field and a full practice field at this event. Both Driving Skills and Programming Skills Challenges are open to all registered teams.

This event will have a four-team limit on the number of teams per organization. If the event is full please place your team on the waiting list. Please contact Daniel Riedinger at [email protected] for additional questions. On-site parking is free.

Teams are expected to conduct themselves with the sportsmanship and gracious behavior that are core values in VEX Robotics Competitions. Judges and Referees will give strong consideration to these traits in students and adults when considering teams for awards. All teams are expected to follow the rules of conduct. Teams who fail to comply may be disqualified from the tournament without a refund per rule .

If your team is not checked in by 8:00 a.m., your team will have to be dropped so that the match schedule can be run unless the lead mentor contacts the Event Partner. Please submit your Engineering Notebooks digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. For 2024 VVV, only digital  Engineering Notebooks will be accepted.

The submission deadline for digital notebooks will be Friday the 25th of October, 2024 by 5:00 pm.

Unfortunately, we can not make any exceptions to this deadline.

TEAM PAYMENT: Teams must be paid two weeks before the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped at the event partner's discretion to allow teams in from the waitlist.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Health and Safety Policies

Safety is a primary concern at LAUSD, Reseda CHS, and VEX Robotics, and this event will have the current COVID safety protocols in effect.

The competition fields and pits will all be in the Reseda South Gym, the big one. This should eliminate any need for drive teams to be running with their robots.

The Competition Fields will be surrounded by ropes and stanchions. Only drivers and volunteers can be in the competition area. Repeated violations could be a violation of Rule <G1>.

Spectators should have a seat and not stand at the ropes blocking the view of other spectators.

Judging Format

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In-Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.
  • The submission deadline for digital notebooks will be Friday the 25th of October, 2024 by 5:00 pm.
