General Info

Welcome to the V5RC Skills tournament at the Knights of Columbus Hall.  The hall is located behind All Saints school, a map is included under the Documents tab. This is a Virginia State qualifying event.

Key Features of this Skills-Only Tournament are:

  • Skills runs from 10:00 AM - NOON for a maximum of 24 teams.
  • Three (3) Skills fields - portable field with GPS grid.
  • Spacious pit areas w/seats
  • Monitors with skills scores.
  • Free parking at the school.
  • On-site light concessions.
  • Custom made Skills Championship trophy - Picture under Documents tab.
  • No practice fields

Payment:  All team payments must be sent to the REC Foundation by January 25, 2025 at 12:00 PM or your team will be dropped.  Only on-line payments will be accepted.  If the tournament is cancelled, all registered participants will be notified by 10 PM on the day before the event.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

10:00 – 12:00 VEX Tournament at Knights Hall at All Saints – Agenda                                          

9:15 Doors open – Inspections.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM:   Skills runs

12:00 PM – 12:15 PM:    Cleanup and depart

Three skills fields will run concurrently. Up to Twenty-four teams will be registered. During the event, a single line will feed all three fields, and robots must be in line. Teams will be allowed up to three autonomous runs and three driver skills runs each.

Volunteer

Teams are encouraged to help with field setup between matches.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event coordinator will e-mail coaches by 10 PM the day before the event if the event will be cancelled.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

A $10 processing fee will be deducted from the registration fee. The balance will be refunded.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

  • No refunds will be made unless the tournament is cancelled by the Event Partner.

All participants will be notified by e-mail by 10 PM on the evening before the event if the tournament is cancelled.
