General Info

Join us at Pingree School's first hosted VRC competition!  For this small event, doors will open at 8 with inspections starting immediately.  We will aim to start the qualifications at 9.  Pizza lunch will be provided for competitors and food and drink will be available for purchase throughout the event.

Unload robots at the flagpole circle in the front of the school and follow signs to park vehicles in the hockey rink parking lot.

Driver and programming skills will be offered.  We will not be doing judged awards this early in the season, but judges will be interviewing teams and offering suggestions.

All teams and spectators will be expected to comply with the REC Code of Conduct.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

2:30 Alliance selection and elimination rounds

4:00 Venue closes.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If Pingree is unable to host the event due to weather or other unforseen circumstances, all registered teams will be notified via email as soon as the decision has been made.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:   If Pingree is forced to cancel the event due to weather or other unforseen circumstances, refunds will be issued less the $5 processing fee charged by RECF.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:  Unfortunately, Pingree cannot issue refunds in this situation.  Please contact me at [email protected] if you need to withdraw from the competition.

 

Judging Format

For this first event, there will be no formal judging and no judged awards.  However, informal judge interviews will take place to give students an opportunity to receive feedback on their design and documentation.
