BISD and Belton New Tech @Waskow  welcomes you to Join us for the inaugural Dragons Den Challenge!

Our Venue is located in downtown Belton, convenient to local restaurants and parking .  There will be plenty of space for spectators and teams.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

7:30 am - Door Open, Inspection Open

8:00 am - Skills fileds open for inspected teams

9:15 am - Inspections Close, Drivers meeting

9:30 am - 11:45 pm- Qualifying Rounds

11:45 -  12:45 pm LUNCH 

1:5 - 3:00 pm- Qualification Rounds Continue

3:15 - Alliance Selection

3:30 pm - Elimination Rounds/Finals

4:30 pm Awards Ceremony

5:00 p.m. Venue Closed

Volunteer

These events are all volunteer run, please aim to lend one volunteer for each team you are registering.  Lots of opportunities big and small. Check out the RECF Volunteer Roles Overview for details. 

The hardest role to fill is typically Judge.  Be assured that technical backgrounds are useful but not required. Being a Judge is a great way to meet some of the students and understand the hard work they put in to produce their robots.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If bad weather was to occur, use your own descretion on attending the event.  If an event is cancelled and we are not able to reschedule the event we will refund your tournament fee minus the $5 which is paid to RECF on registration.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Judging Format

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
