Important Updates:

Pizza Lunch Preorder: We have made arrangements for pizza delivery for lunch. You have to Preorder Pizza by Fri, Feb 14, 9:00 PM PST by filling out the form. To avoid lines during the short lunch break please pre-order the pizza.

Onsite Cafe: We have an onsite cafe where you can purchase food, snacks, and beverages throughout the day
• Engineering Notebooks: All teams planning to submit engineering notebooks are required to do so online. The hard deadline for submission is Friday, Feb 7th, 11:59PM PST.
This is the 7th annual NorCal Signature High School Event.
This event will be a qualifying event for the VEX Robotics World Championships. We look forward to your participation!
This event for high school teams will run for 3 days: Opening on Friday evening (with optional Inspection and Skills), qualifying and skills matches on Saturday, and remaining qualifying matches, followed by playoffs and elimination matches on Sunday afternoon. We plan to have each team participate in 9-10 qualifying matches.
We strive to conduct the event safely. Please ensure you have read the Health and Safety Policies, for your own safety and others at the event. We have made arrangements to have a fun and safe event for everyone.

No pre-qualification requirements to register for the event. If you have financial difficulty please send us an email and we will support you on a case-by-case basis.
Since this is a REC Foundation Signature Event, we are required to have a certain number of teams registered from outside of California for this Signature Event. For those coming from out of state, please let us know if you need any financial assistance - we may waive the registration fee. Please contact the event partner first for more information.

We request all teams to be inspected on Sunday, Feb 16th. In case you are unable to make it on Feb 16th, we require you to be fully inspected by 7:30AM on the 17th. This is a hard deadline.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
We do not expect dad weather to not impact this event, since all activities are indoors or in covered areas.
However, in case of an unforeseen cancellation, the event partner(s) will communicate with you as early as possible.
Teams should make sure their contact information on Robotevents.com is up to date, and includes phone numbers that they will be able to access during weekends and / or holidays, in case of any urgent communications become necessary.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Event partner(s) will try their best to issue full refunds (minus the $5 processing fee charged by Robot Events) in the event of an unforeseen cancellation.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Registrations will not be refunded for teams that registered but did not attend. If there are teams on the waiting list that can backfill vacated spots, and if you let us know at least five weeks before the event date.
All payments MUST be received before the payment deadline date of Dec 7th, 2024. Teams registered after payment deadline will need to pay registration fee within 1 week. If payment is not received, teams will be moved to the waitlist, and teams from the waitlist will be offered the spot. Reminders will be sent before the payment deadline. Unless you have an explicit exception from the event partner, your team will be placed back on the waitlist if payment is not received by the payment deadline.
Health and Safety Policies
There are no vaccination or mask mandates, but we highly encourage everyone to avoid coming into the facility if you are not feeling well and follow all commonly expected safety and health precautions.

Engineering notebooks will need to be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.

Judging & Interviews
For this event we will be using remote judging as the first round, scheduled to take place from Monday, February 10, 2025 - Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (PST).

Interview Format:

Judging will be done via Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/iur-dych-zwf

We request that the entire team (and robot) be present for the interview.

One adult mentor or representative from your team must be present.

Similar to in-person judging, there will be two judges in the virtual room.
Technical Guidelines:

Cameras not required but appreciated (especially to show the robot).

Team members can join from separate devices/locations.

No recording allowed.
Before Joining:
* ️ Set your display name as your team number and letter.
• Have your camera/mic ready.
• Ensure that a parent, or an adult mentor or coach is present.
• You’ll be placed in a breakout room for a 15-minute interview, then asked to disconnect.
In-Person Judging: The second round will take place at the event.

Signature Event Early Bird Policy
- All Signature Events will have a specific Early Bird Registration that is independent of all local/regional Early Bird systems
- Each team starts the season with three (3) opportunities to register during the Signature Event Early-Bird period
- An opportunity is taken away each time the team registers for a Signature Event, whether during the Signature Event Early-Bird period or Standard period
- A Signature Event Early-Bird opportunity is not taken away if a team registers for a tournament hosted by their school or organization (where the team’s coach is the Event Partner)
- Early Bird Registration will open 16 weeks before the event at 12:00PM EST
- Note: Modifications to this may be made for events in August and September
- Standard Registration will open 14 weeks before the event at 12:00PM EST
- An Event Partner may register their own teams to their Signature Event during Signature Event Early Bird Registration no matter how many other Signature Events they are already registered for
- The Event Partner must be the Primary Contact for the teams they are registering
- Each team starts the season with three (3) opportunities to register during the Signature Event Early-Bird period
