General Info

LAUNCH Signature Event - Welcome teams!

Tinkham Veale University Center is located at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio will look to LAUNCH this signature event to new heights. Whether you are live in person or watching on livestream the event looks to visually wow you.  This event will qualify to the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas.  Once we know a final number of registered teams, the agenda and daily schedule may be adjusted to reflect. Please check back here often as we update this website with more details about the event.

Signature Event Details

As a Signature Event, there are several special features of this event that will be different from many VRC tournaments:

  • No more than 50% of teams may come from a single region
  • Competition fields will be raised (practice and skills fields will be on the floor)
  • Matches will be split between two days of competition
  • 3 VEX Worlds Championship Qualifications will be awarded at the tournament
  • Livestreaming will be on our youtube channel 2011Robotics
  • 3 competition fields, 3 skills fields, 5 practice fields and practice fields at selected hotels.

Payment Deadline

Payment is due by 2 weeks from your registration. Please contact Craig Kowatch if this is a problem or your team will be automatically moved to the bottom of the waitlist, and a waitlist team will be moved into the event. 

Event Judging

Judging will be in-person at the event. Per RECF guidelines, teams need a physical notebook for in-person judging. If they have been creating and maintaining it digitally, then they should print out a hard copy.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, updates will be made by email.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will only be made if the event is cancelled by 2011 Robotics. Refunds will not include the $5 processing fee assessed by Robot Events for processing.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Registrations will not be refunded for teams that register, but choose not to come. 

 

Judging Format

 

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.

Signature Event Early Bird Policy

  • All Signature Events will have a specific Early Bird Registration that is independent of all local/regional Early Bird systems
    • Each team starts the season with three (3) opportunities to register during the Signature Event Early-Bird period
      • An opportunity is taken away each time the team registers for a Signature Event, whether during the Signature Event Early-Bird period or Standard period
      • A Signature Event Early-Bird opportunity is not taken away if a team registers for a tournament hosted by their school or organization (where the team’s coach is the Event Partner)
    • Early Bird Registration will open 16 weeks before the event at 12:00PM EST
      • Note: Modifications to this may be made for events in August and September
    • Standard Registration will open 14 weeks before the event at 12:00PM EST
    • An Event Partner may register their own teams to their Signature Event during Signature Event Early Bird Registration no matter how many other Signature Events they are already registered for  
      • The Event Partner must be the Primary Contact for the teams they are registering
