Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

8:00-8:45        Check in (hallway near room C-101),

8:00 Registration, Inspection Opens, fields open for practice and to strategize with other teams

8:45 Check-in closes

9:00 Inspection Closes

9:00 A quick Coaches Meeting near the check-in table

9:05 Drivers Meeting in Gymnasium

9:15-12:00 Qualification, Skills Challenges, Judging

12:00-12:45 Lunch, Skills MAY remain Open Depending on Staffing... we will announce during the Driver's Meeting

12:45-3:15 Qualification, Skills Challenges, Judging/Interviews ends around 2:30 pm

3:45 Finals & Awards

~3:45            Clean up + departure (Don’t forget your Engineering Notebook!)

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of any emergency or bad weather, we will post updates to Robot Events and email coaches. 

If your arrival will be delayed, please call or text (904) 557-8093 with your team number, and we will do our best to accommodate you. 

All reasonable efforts will be made to inform teams of any cancellations due to inclement weather. Refunds will be given in event of cancellation.

Please contact me if weather is a concern and please monitor the event status on Robot Events.com Cancellations will be posted there.

Refund and Payment Policies

  • If the Event Partner cancels the event: A full refund will be given minus the $5 team fee.
  • If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Contact us at least two weeks prior to the competition to discuss refunds or cancellations.  Any refund will be minus the RobotEvents.com fee.
  • Payment should be received within three weeks of registration.
  • Teams registered within a month of the event should pay upon registration.
  • Teams who do not meet the payment deadlines will be moved to the waitlist.

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges. No Digital Notebooks will be accepted. If you are utilizing a Digital Notebook this season, please print it out and bring it in a binder for the judges to review.
