General Info

Welcome to the Winter Dolphin Classic VIQRC Invitational. This tournament is being held at Daves Creek Elementary in Cumming, Georgia.  We are excited to see what the students around the state of Georgia have come up with to solve the challenges of this year's game.  

We are requesting that any team that would like to be considered for Judges Awards such as Excellence, Design, or Innovate, submit their Engineering Notebook to the judges during interviews the morning of the event.  For our events this season, we are asking that teams turn in a hard copy of their engineering ntoebook.  If your team is using a digital engineering notebook, please print off a copy and bring it with you to the event. 

All participants are expected to complete the participant release form (also available in Spanish). Once per season covers all events.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

8:00 AM - Doors open for teams

8:00- 8:30 AM - Inspection 

8:10-9:40 AM- Skills

  •        Teams must be in the line for skills at 9:35 

9:45- 10:00 AM - Drivers Meeting 

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Teamwork Matches

12:00-12:35 PM - Lunch

12:40 - 2:00 PM- Teamwork Matches

2:00 -2:15 PM- Finals

2:15 - 2:30 PM - Awards 

Please remember that we area dealing with the technology that at any time can decide to completely change the schedule.  We will do ou best to ahead to the schedule.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of extreme weather or other emergencies that cause travel or safety issues for most teams, the event may be postponed or cancelled, as necessary.  All teams will be notfied and kept up to date with changes as soon as they are made. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

If an event must be canceled, every attempt will be made to reschedule the event in order to provide the opportunity for the students to compete. If the event cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be given less the $5 that the REC must keep in order to cover their processing fees. For example, a refund of $35 would be given for an event that costs $40. If you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to the event partner.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event, then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds will be given unless there is a team on the waitlist that can attend in the withdrawing teams place. In the event there is a team from the waitlist that can replace the withdrawing team, a refund will be given less the $5 that the REC must keep to cover their processing fees. For example, a refund of $35 would be given for an event that costs $40. If you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to the event partner.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges. If your team is using a digital engineering notebook, please print off a copy and bring it with you to the event.
