General Info

This is an Official Indiana VEX IQ State Qualifying Event that will offer State Qualification Spots for the Excellence Award (1 award) and 1st place Teamwork Champions (2 awards). We will also have Skills Champion Award as well. Non-qualifying awards for Judges, Design, Innovation and Sportsmanship will also be given.

Any team not paid by December 20th will be removed to the waitlist and that space will be offered to a team on the wait list.

The Marion Justice Giant Athletic Department will be running concessions as a fundraiser. Breakfast items will be available and pizza by the slice will be available for lunch. Popcorn, hot dogs, coffee, various beverages, and other snacks will be available all day. Menu is subject to change.

Participation and Consent:

A completed form for all participants must be turned in during check-in. These need to be uploaded to RobotEvents.com  prior to the day’s event. The consent form is located in the Documents tab of this event. 

The day of registration check-in deadline is 9:15 am; teams not checked in by that time will be removed from the event and will not be included in the match list. Call 765-661-9781 if you have any issue getting to the event on time the day of. We understand that weather in Indiana in January is finicky, so any cancellations or alternations to times will be communicated via email and text messages. 

All payments for entry fees MUST be in advance. Payments will not be accepted at the door.

Volunteer

We welcome volunteers for our event. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator Heather Rumple at 765-664-0507 ext. 5005 during the school day, or email [email protected] after school hours. We are looking for Queuing, Refereeing, and field setting volunteers.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations please visit the event on Robotevents.com where I will post updates about the event status as needed. Please feel free to contact me by phone (765-661-9781) if you are going to be late to the event. Match Lists will be generated at 9:30am and cannot be re-run.

Refund and Payment Policies

Event payments are expected when you register for the event and must be completed by December 20th. At that time, un-paid teams will be removed from the event to allow teams on the wait list to register. Please contact Megan McAdams (765-661-9781) if there are considerations to be made.

All requests for refunds must be made 2 weeks prior to the event. Refunds will be processed ASAP following the event. Any refund will be less the $5-dollar processing fee.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
