General Info
Monroe High School and Vintage Magnet Elementary School are delighted to host the VEX IQ in the Valley Try it Out Tournament . Winning specific awards at this event will qualify teams to attend the California State Championship. The event is open to 44 elementary and/or middle school VEX IQ teams. We are accepting up to five teams from each organization. We encourage organizations to put their extra robot teams on the waiting list if the event becomes full. We will place additional teams a week prior to the tournament.
Wait list preference will be given to rookie teams, teams that have not be able to attend many event, and to schools that host or co-host an event of their own. If you have a team on the wait list and are a rookie team, or are hosting or co-hosting an event in the 2024-2025 season, please email the event organizer with the team or event information, and you will be given priority to be placed in the event.
Judging is planned to be done remotely. Teams will be given an interview prior to the event and electronic notebooks must be submitted by Monday, September 30th at 3:00 PM. How to Submit a Digital Engineering Notebook
On-site parking is free. Team Registration/Check-In will be at 8:00 am, sharp.
Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event.
Teams must be paid two weeks prior to the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped at the event partner's discretion to allow teams in from the wait list.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. Please make sure your team contact information is up to date in RobotEvents.com in the event we need to contact your team.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Event payments for each team can be used for any future event offered by the event organizer. Event registration payments will also roll over in case of any date changes for an event. Due to financial restrictions of the organization, monetary refunds cannot be issued.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Event payments are expected when you register for this event and must be completed a minimum of two weeks prior to the event date. Unpaid teams will be removed from the event, allowing space for teams on the wait list. Due to the financial commitment on the part of the event venue, no refunds will be possible. Thank you for your understanding. It is essential that all teams check in before 8:00 am.

- Remote Initial Team Interviews / In-Person Engineering Notebooks: Initial Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, possibly before the date of the event. Engineering Notebooks will be submitted digitally prior to the event for the judges to review.
