General Info

Welcome to this year’s 2023-2024 Texas Region 1 VEX IQ Elementary Robotics Tournament.  In order to register for this tournament, you must attend and win a spot at one of the Qualifying events throughout the year.  You may also get an invitation if you do well in the skills division locally.  The top winners of this tournament will be able to claim the Region 1 Championship title as well as get a ticket to the VEX IQ Worlds Elementary Slapshot Championship in Dallas Texas.  Good Luck and see you at the Championship.

There will be concessions available, please bring your cash, because it will be cash only.

Code of Conduct

Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

7:00 am Doors Open

7:30 am - 8:30 am Inspection

8:40 am - 8: 50 am Driver's meeting

9:00 Opening Ceremony

9:15 am - 12:00 pm Robot Skills

9:30 am - 12:00 pm Qualifying Matches

12:00 pm - 12:30 pm Lunch and Prep for Finals

12:45 pm - 1:15 Finals

2:00 pm Awards and closing.

We will try our best to have a smooth tournament and get you all out early. 

Volunteer

We will be looking for students who can help out with resetting fields.  Volunteers will get community service hours along with food and drinks.  Plus up front seats to the tournament.

Anything possible will be done to make sure tournament is held.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

For refunds please email [email protected].  Take into consideration that PO take a long time to process and REC Foundations also take a long time to issue check for tournament.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

There will be no refunds.

 

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply. Please see the Remote Judging section of the Guide to Judging for more information. ​

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
  • Digital Notebook Must be uploaded in Robot Events by February 9, 2023, at 11:00 pm
