General Info

First of all Congratulations on making it to the Texas Region 1 MS VEX IQ Championship!

We are proud of every team for their hard work, dedication, and problem-solving! YWLA is proud and thankful to host this year's Regional Championship at UTEP in the UGLC Building. We are working hard to make this event memorable and to celebrate this great accomplishment!

Please note the following important information to ensure your team is prepared:

1.) Notebooks are to be submitted digitally by Monday, February 19, 2024. Interviews will be done in person. Reminder to coaches, parents, and administration: Pictures and videos during the interview are not allowed and can lead to the interview to stop.

2.) Queuing will be like at worlds! Students are to make sure to be at the queuing table 5 - 10 minutes prior since there will be multiple fields they need to report to.

3.) Ensure to review of the most up-to-date manual for any changes.

4.) Above everything lets have fun!

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Safety is priority! In case of bad weather, we will have clear communication about delays or postponing to a better day. Following the procedures UTEP has in place.

Refund and Payment Policies

If for some reason the event cannot happen as plan the event will not be canceled, if anything it may be postponed.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend: there will be no refunds.

 

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In-Person Team Interviews:

Team interviews will be conducted in person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.

The submission deadline for the notebooks is on Monday, February 19, 2024
