General Info

Welcome to the Texas Region 5 VIQRC Elementary Championship! We are looking forward to a great event. This is an in-person event. Judging is available in-person. Please read each of the following. Each of these will be adhered to with no exceptions.

  • All attendees are expected to abide by the code of conduct 

    • Although we don’t expect there to be any violations during the tournament, the EP reserves the right to disqualify any person(s) and ask perpetrators to leave the premises. .

  • All participants are expected to have the participant release form . (Spanish)  on file prior to competing.  Please verify that all your students have this form completed and it has been uploaded to your team’s account

Digital engineering notebooks will be accepted through Robot Events and are due on Wednesday, February 28.

Concessions will be available at the event.

If you bring your field, note that it becomes a public field when your team is not using it.

  • 7:30  Doors open and registration begins - Please check in at the team check-in table upon arrival.

  • 7:45 - 8:15 Inspections 

  • 8:30 Parade of Teams & Driver Meeting

  • 9:00  Qualification Matches and Skills matches

  • 12:00 - 12:30 Lunch

  • 12:35 Resume Matches 

  • 2:00 - 2:30  Finals

    • The top 20 teams to the finals.  Awards will follow finals. 

  • 3:30 - Building closes

*Please keep in mind that all times are approximate, tournaments can tend to run ahead of schedule.  Tournament schedule is subject to change throughout the day. We will adhere to the match number rather than match start time.

Volunteers are always needed and appreciated! A tournament does not operate without our awesome volunteers. Individuals wishing to volunteer, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Stacy McGough.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event is canceled, coaches will be notified by email.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: There will be no refunds

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: There will be no refunds

 

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
