Welcome to the 2nd annual 2023-2024 Big Island Elementary Vex IQ League hosted by Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi - Kula Haʻahaʻa (Elementary)

The Big Island Elementary Vex IQ League would like to provide haumāna of Hawaiʻi Island the ability to build skills through friendly robotics competition and pilina.

There will be four dates for league play.

Three qualification matches: October 21, November 18, & December 9

 Finals on January 13, 2024.  Engineering Notebook due at check-in, & robot skills (3 Driver & 3 autonomous attempts)


Grade Level: Elementary

Skills Challenge Offered: Yes

Judging Format: All In-Person Judging

Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone to the success of any event.  We are currently seeking volunteers in any capacity.  Experience is not required for many roles!

We are currently looking for volunteers for the following:

  • Emcee
  • Referees
  • Field Resetter
  • Judges
  • Robot Inspection
  • Set up & Clean up

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event that we are unable to convene due to inclement/bad weather the individual event will be rescheduled. 
The event partner will contact teams if the event must be postponed.

Teams should make sure their contact information is up to date in RobotEvents.com, and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

Refund and Payment Policies

Once the registration deadline is reached, there will be no refunds unless the tournament is canceled because of the weather.  Refunds will be $115, less the $5 processing fee the REC Foundation charges for each team.

Health and Safety Policies

This event will follow all local health and safety guideles.  In addition, Kamehameha School may require additional health and safety protocols.  More information will be sent out to all registered teams on any updates or changes.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
