General Info

A coaches/advisors hospitality room will be set up, but WILL NOT provide a meal at lunch. Snacks, drinks and bottled water will be made available for coaches and advisors. Please help us keep student competitors in the contest area. The hospitality room is for coaches, advisors and volunteers only.

Concessions will be available starting at 9:00 am.

Digital notebooks will be submitted utilizing the instructions in the "Judging Format" link on the left side of this page. Please note the deadline to submit the digital notebook. Notebooks received after the deadline specified will NOT be considered for judged awards and will not be reviewed. No exceptions.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, this event may be cancelled or postponed. In the event the tournament is cancelled, refunds will be given (minus the $5 REC Foundation website maintenance charge, per team).

If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather, notification will be sent out to all advisor's/coaches email addresses (as posted in the team registration system) on the Friday afternoon prior to the event, no later than 5:00 pm CST.

Phone calls and text messages will NOT be sent out.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be given, minus the $5 per team REC Foundation website maintenance fee (per team).

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will NOT be given if the team withdraws, does not attend the event or fails to complete the robot inspection in order to compete. Make sure your team's robots will pass inspection before bringing it to the inspection table. Teams should be prepared to complete robot inspection prior to 9:00 am.

Payment is expected to be recevied by the REC Foundation at least 5 days prior to the event.

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews:

Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. The submission deadline for digital notebook submission for this event is Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Noon. Notebooks with a "timestamp" receipt after this date/time will NOT be reviewed for Judged Awards.
