General Info

Dust off the cobwebs, it's time for Full Volume!! Get your season started off with one of the first competitions in the State. Come join us for an exciting day! There will be a VRC event being hosted in the same gym as well for you to check out! Bring your VRC teams to compete too!


All times are in Eastern Time Zone. 

Caston is located 3 miles south of Fulton, Indiana on the Cass/Fulton County Line. It is located between Rochester and Logansport right along Highway 25 approximately 12 miles from either town.  There are no restaurants in the area without going into either Logansport or Rochester. A mini-mart gas station is located in Fulton. 

There will be a concession stand available for the competition, but it will have limited options for lunch. Check the documents section of the event for concessions stand items and prices. Teams are invited to order pizza which will be delivered to the school. Orders need to be submitted by 8:00pm on 10/24/2023.

With our competition being hosted on Halloween weekend, we encourage teams to dress in costume! Coaches are encouraged too! An award will be given to the team with the best costume!

8:30-9:15am - Inspection (Drop off Engineering Notebooks at Inspection) / All fields open for teams to practice if they have passed inspection.

9:20am - Coaches Meeting

9:30am - Opening Ceremonies

9:45am - Skills Fields open / Practice & Qualification schedules distributed

10:00-12:00pm - Morning Qualification Matches / Skills Open

12:00pm-1:00pm - Skills Fields Closed / Lunch Break 

1-3:00pm - Skills open / Afternoon Qualification Matches 

3:00 - Skills Closed 

3:15pm - Finals matches and Awards

4:00pm - Pack up and Depart. Have a safe trip home!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Although we do not plan on having inclement weather we know we live in Indiana and the weather changes whenever it wants to! Please know that we will do everything in our power to host the competition on the scheduled date. In the event that this tournament cannot take place due to inclement weather or COVID-19, registration fees will be returned minus $5.00 for administrative fees and postage. 

Refund and Payment Policies

Registration fees will not be refunded if teams do not cancel by 10/21/2023.

All teams need to be present and checked in prior to the start of the competition (no later than 9:00am). Refunds will not be issued to teams who arrive after competition rounds have begun. 

In the event that this tournament cannot take place due to inclement weather or COVID-19, registration fees will be returned minus $5.00 for administrative fees and postage.

Travel Info

Traveling from a distance? There is a New Home2 Suites by Hilton open in Logansport and a Holiday Inn. Both will be about a 25 minute drive to Caston.


We will make every attempt to have the competition available to be viewed live. We may use YouTube, FaceBook Live, or another source. We will post updates on here and on our Caston Robotics FaceBook page closer to the competition date. 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges. No Digital Notebooks will be accepted. If you are utilizing a Digital Notebook this season, please print it out and bring it in a binder for the judges to review.
