Welcome to the Kettering University RADC Aerial Drones Competition!

Saturday, January 29, 2022

  • Thank you for choosing to join us on Saturday, January 29, 2022 for the Kettering University RADC Down Draft 2 Event #1
  • This event is open to in and out-of-state teams!
  • All individuals will be required to wear a mask while indoors.

  • Teams are expected to pay the registration fee at the time of registration. 
  • The event screening station* will open at 8:00 AM for teams to check-in.
  • Follow the VEX Event signage posted on Chevrolet Ave. to parking and check-in at the Recreation Center.
  • We anticipate the event concluding by no later than 3:00 PM.

*Please do not bring your team members to this event if they or someone in their household are sick or have a temperature of 100.4 F or higher. Each attendee will be required to complete a health screening form, have a temperature check, and wear a mask at the event.

Volunteer

Volunteers will be recruited by the Robotics Community Center at Kettering University. Volunteers will also be screened, complete temperature checks and wear masks. Staff members, faculty members and Kettering students are all tested for covid at the beginning of each term (early, Jan, Apr, July and Oct). Random testing is also being held during the current the term. In addition, daily screening and temperature checks are completed as each individual staff member, faculty member and Kettering student enters the campus buildings through one of the three designated doors.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Please check the robotevents.com General Information page before traveling to Kettering University for possible notice of a delayed event start time, cancellation or rescheduling of the event due to inclement weather, local emergency or enhanced coronavirus restrictions.

Notice will be posted by 5:00 AM the morning of the event (or sooner if decision is made).

Refund Policy

Should the Kettering University RADC Down Draft 2 Event on January 29, 2022 be cancelled, refunds in the amount of $75 will be issued.

While we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit, we are committed to making our venue as safe as possible. We appreciate your cooperation during this unprecedented time and ask that you Visit the CDC website for the latest information. 

 

Competition Safety Measures:

  • Currently:
  • Spectators will be allowed in the event facility
  • Members of registered teams are not limited in number 
  • All individuals are required to wear a mask while indoors, complete a screening form and to have their temperature taken prior to entry
  • Individuals will be screened prior to entry
  • Kettering University screens staff, faculty and students upon entry to buildings and tests those not vaccinated against COVID-19 at the beginning of each term in Jan, Apr, July and Oct.
  • Masks and hand sanitizer will be available onsite

All Individuals are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth for the entirety of the event, unless actively eating or outside

Screening and Temperature check 

Screening will be performed and temperature checks will be required before entering the competition building, anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be admitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Where do I have to go to get my temperature taken?  Individuals will have their temperatures taken at the competition facility entry screening station

  2. What will happen if someone has a high temperature?  Any participant that has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be able to enter the event facility and requested that the individual see a doctor, per CDC guidelines.

  3. Will I be required to wear a mask? What if I don’t have one?  Yes if you will be required to wear a mask. We are following CDC guidelines as well as local health protocols and Kettering University protocols, and masks are required to participate in this event (indoors). Please see details below on what is considered an appropriate mask for your visit. If you do not have a mask, we have them available at no charge. 
  4. What is considered an appropriate mask?  An appropriate mask for the competition must fit the following criteria:
    • Must cover your nose and mouth and be secured under your chin
    • Must fit snugly against the sides of your face and be secured with ear loops or secured around your head
    • We recommend that masks be at least two-ply (consist of at least two layers). Also, a gaiter is not considered an appropriate face covering 
    • The following are NOT permitted at the event:
      • Face coverings that are not secured with ear loops or secured around your head
      • Face coverings that include mesh material or holes of any kind
      • Face coverings that are unable to be secured under your chin, such as bandannas
      • Costume masks or veils                                                                                                                          
  5. What if I don't have a mask?   ​​​Masks will be provided at no charge                                                                                                            
  6. What about masks when participants are eating?  Individuals must wear a mask at all times, unless they are actively eating or drinking.                                                                                                                                         
  7. What if I’m traveling from out-of-state to the event? (outside Michigan)  Individuals should be aware of and comply with government guidelines regarding travel restrictions and mandatory quarantines before visiting our campus. In addition, individuals must comply with Kettering Universities out-of-state travel guidelines by visiting https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/testing/tracker/overview. If the state(s) you travel from and/or through have a COVID Positive Percent average of 10% or higher for the seven days prior to the event, you may NOT attend the event.                                             
  8. What if I traveled out of state in the 14 days prior to the event?  Individuals must comply with Kettering University's out-of-state travel guidelines by visiting https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/testing/tracker/overview. If the state(s) you travel from and/or through have a COVID Positive Percent average of 10% or higher for the seven days prior to the event, you may NOT attend the event.
