General Info

Welcome to the Bush VEXU Qualifier at WVUTech! We are proud to partner with this school that has earned a number of awards for top small engineering schools in the nation. 

Digital Notebook Submissions
Engineering notebooks will be reviewed digitally in the days before the event. Digital notebooks (or scanned copies of physical noteboooks) must be submitted through RobotEvents. For detailed instructions regarding digital notebook submissions, see this page. Digital notebooks submitted via any other means (e.g. email) will not be accepted. Printed copies of notebooks on the day of the event will not be accepted.

The deadline to submit notebooks for review is Friday, January 31, 2025.

Team interviews will be conducted in-person on the day of the event.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

12:00 pm - Venue opens - Team Check-in Van Meter Gym, Beckley
12:00- 12:30 pm - Technical Inspection
12:30 pm - Welcome and Game/Rules Overview in Gym
1:00 - 5:00 pm  - Qualifying Matches and Skills until 7pm - once last QM run, Skills are closed.
5:30 pm - Alliance Selections
6:00 pm - Elimination Rounds
7:30 pm - Awards
9:00 pm - Venue closes (you may come pack up in the morning of February 8 if needed)

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of a bad weather cancellation, we will reach out via email by 6 am the day of the event or as soon as we know of inclement weather. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event then no refunds will be offered. 

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend then no refunds will be offered.

Travel Info

This event will be hosted at VanMeter Gym  and Carter Hall on the WVU Tech campus, easily accessible off of S Kanawha Street and Church Street in Beckley, WV. Buses will have an easier time accessing from Church Street.

Judging Format

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.
