Jackson Area Robotics along with the University of Memphis at Lambuth are excited to host VEX U teams for this Skills Only event run in conjunction with Hub City West TN Invitational V5 Blended tournament.

This event hopes to give VEX U teams the opportunity to secure those early season Skills scores and test out their robot designs.

Teams can volunteer to help set up on Friday evening starting at 4:00 pm and will have the opportunity to be inspected and run Skills by 6:00 pm. Teams will also have the opportunity to scrimmage with High School teams throughout the event both days.

Each VEX U TEAM will be asked to provide a minimum of ONE volunteer for the day of the event (this may be split between multiple people depending on the role) AND agrees to help set up on Friday, Nov. 15, OR tear down on Saturday, Nov. 16, in exchange for NO REGISTRATION FEE. Only volunteers who sign up two weeks in advance will recieve a free meal the day of the event. There will not be any meals for setting up and tearing down.

Due to the strict, in-house catering policy at the UofM Lambuth only teams that order lunches will be able to dine in the building. JAR is not making any money from these lunches and is only charging actual costs. Teams that choose not to order lunches must plan to eat outdoors. There is a lovely patio area and large quad area for those teams who choose to bring their own lunches. Fast food is not quickly accessible to the campus, so planning ahead is critical. Everyone is also encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottles as no outside drinks are permissible. Thank you for understanding.
