2593: Second Interview Computer

During the recent state championship our team was visited by judges to be considered for a few awards, one must have been Amaze or Think

The judges arrived to discuss the coding while our coder was trying to edit autonomous so the code was open on the pc. Our team also had a teamwork match coming up and were required to go queue. The code was written by a combo of our coder and two other team members. One of which was a drive team member. The whole team was never assembled. The judges proceeded to sit at our table and scroll through the code while asking questions to our coder.

Is it acceptable for the judges to operate our computer and look through our code? Would it be acceptable for our team to demand to scroll through the code for the judges if viewing it on the laptop is a request from a judge? Also is it acceptable to isolate a single team mate for 2nd interviews?

If given permission, it is acceptable for judges to look through code on a computer.

It is also acceptable for judges to engage with a single student, within reason and in accordance with our Youth Protection policies.

If other students on the team could also contribute to the coding discussion, it would have been prudent for the team being interviewed to ask the judges to wait until all students could be gathered to participate. Scheduled matches always take precedence over judging interviews.
