2460: Innovate Submission Question

Richard VanGilder (Event Partner)
26-Jan-2025

As stated in page 21, the following is the current guidelines:

Note: Submissions for the Innovate Award must be done using the Innovate Award Submission Information Form or an exact recreation of that form, including all questions, answers, and all other form information. This can be included by the team in one of two places:

  1. Immediately after the cover page of the team’s Engineering Notebook. In the case of physical notebooks, this form can be printed out and placed in the notebook. For digital notebooks, this form can be scanned in and included.
  2. In a clearly labeled section in their Engineering Notebook. In this instance, teams should take care to date all entries and arrange them chronologically, fully filling out the information required on the Innovate Award Submission Form. Judges are to only consider the entry in this section that aligns with the event name / date.

If they are using paragraph 2, the question is, if they indicate in the table of contents "Innovate section" and follow the section/page/tab/label with the correct formated innovate form is that the same as stated in 1?

Second question is: Does "exact recreation" of the form require the inclusion of the footer ("Guide to Judging" and the Guide version date)

1 & 2 are both equivalently acceptable ways to submit the Innovate Award Submission information. Clearly labeling the Innovate Award section in the Table of Contents to help the Judges find the Innovate Award Submission form makes sense to assist judges in finding the information they would be looking for.

Second question is: Does "exact recreation" of the form require the inclusion of the footer ("Guide to Judging" and the Guide version date)

The questions and content of the Innovate Award Submission Form are what is important. Recreation of the Guide to Judging footer is optional.
