Información general

This year's DC VRC championship will be hosted by Friendship Tech Prep high school.  The winner will automatically qualify for the VEX World Championship!  More details will be provided the week before the Championship.

 

Teams must have competed at a previous event in the season in order to be invited to the DC VRC Championship.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

  •  8:00 AM - 9:00 AM - Check in, inspection and practice

  •  8:00 AM - 9:00 AM - Volunteer Training

  •  9:15 AM - 9:30 AM - Mandatory drivers meeting

  • 9:30 AM - Kickoff of event Ceremonies

  • 9:45AM - 12:00 Skills Challenge

  • 10:45 AM - 1:45 AM - Qualification matches

  • 12:00 PM - Lunch

  • 1:45 PM -2:30PM Alliance Selection/ Elimination Rounds

  • 2:30 PM - Awards

  • 3:00PM - Cleanup

Volunteers Needed:  Please consider volunteering to help at the tournament.  There are volunteer positions available, please contact Fred Davy ([email protected])  to sign up.

Friendship Public Charter Schools broadcast their school closings on all local TV and radio outlets.  In case of inclement weather please listen for school and special event/activities closings on these media outlets.

Refund and Payment Policies

Teams are eligible for a full refund if they cancel at least one week in advance.  Any cancellations 5 days or less will receive a partial refund.  Please listen to the local news outlets for school cancellations due to weather.  You may also contact Fred Davy (Event Partner) if you need to cancel.

Judging Format

 

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
