Come check out Columbus Blue Jackets VEX event, then stay for the game!

Important notice:

Registration for the event is $105.

In addition, all attendees (team members/coach/mentor/instructor/parents) are required to purchase a ticket to enter the building prior to the deadline for the event. If anyone does not have a ticket they will not be allowed to participate in the competition. Tickets are offered at the reduced rate of $35 per person. This ticket allows full access to the Ice Hockey game that starts at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased through Alec Rivers.

Please note this is a requirement made by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Concessions will be available so you will not need to leave the building for lunch! One large pizza per team will be provided at lunch.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Teams will be notified 24 hours prior to the event if there is a weather concern for the event.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event: 

Due to the high costs involved with this event, a refund, will only be offered after all the event expenses has been taken care of. 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

If a team cancels and we can replace them with another team then a full refund less $5 will be sent out. Unfortunately, due to the high costs involved with this event, if we cannot replace the team then no refund will be sent out.

Judging Format

 

  •  In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
