Información general

Welcome to the Washington Middle School VRC Regional Championship!  This event is open to Washington VRC Middle School teams that have qualified at REC Foundation VRC events.

Qualifying to this Championship:

There are three ways for teams to qualify to Championship events:

  • Qualifying Award: Winning a qualifying award at an official event in the team’s Event Region.
  • Robot Skills Ranking: If the Championship event in the team’s region is not filled to capacity through qualifying awards, teams may qualify through the World Skills Standings sorted for the Event Region and by grade level. Teams invited through Robot Skills Challenge Rankings are invited in ranked order after the results of the last qualifying event in the region have been posted. Scores earned after this date will not be used to qualify teams to their Championship.
  • Waitlist: If there is remaining capacity due to teams not accepting the invite after the Robot Skills Rankings invites have been issued, the capacity will either be lowered, and the event will be closed, or teams will be invited from the waitlist. This will be decided by the REC Foundation Manager.

All teams will are invited to submit physical Engineering Design Notebooks and will be interviewed onsite.

VEX World Championship Qualification Spots

This event will qualify Washington Middle School VRC teams to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas.  The following awards will earn VEX Robotics World Championship spots:

  • (1) Excellence Award
  • (2) Tournament Champions
  • (1) Design Award
  • (1) Robot Skills Champion

If a team double qualifies for the VEX Robotics World Championships, then the Event Engagement Manager will use the process outlined in the VRC Championship Qualifying Criteria to invite additional teams. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at RobotEvents.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.
