General Info

Nanakuli High & Intermediate Teams, are delighted to host West Oahu VEX Live remote Tournament I, the 2021 VEX Tipping Point Tournament. The event will be live remote and open to 24 High School and Middle School teams.  This event will be limited to two teams per school. Once the event is full, a waiting list will be created for teams who were unable to register. This waiting list will also be available for you to sign up additional teams, but precedence will be given to schools/organizations who are not yet registered.

**Please note we are in Nanakuli, Hawaii and are based on HST-Hawaii Standard Time!** Adjust accordingly to where you are located!

Safety is a primary concern in VEX robotics and this event will meet or exceed all COVID safety protocols.  Requirements for attending this event are:

  • Note since teams from the same organization may compete against each other during the tournament, each program with more than one team register will require two fields. For example, if you register 2 teams from your organization, you will need two fields at your site.

Robot Skills will not be offered.

Each team shall provide a Team Facilitator. 

Each team shall provide their own volunteers sufficient for field reset and other tasks.

Safety is a primary concern in VEX robotics and this event will meet or exceed all COVID safety protocols. 

Requirements for participating in this event are:

  • All teams (students and mentors) will need to adhere to the local COVID protocols for their location.
  • Because the event will be live-streamed, spectators will be allowed using their own technology to watch.
  • A lunch break will be provided. The anticipated lunch break is 30-45 minutes.

LATE Arrivals: Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event.

Volunteer

As this is a Live Remote Tournament, volunteers are only needed to assist with the individual teams. Please contact your individual team mentor/coach to volunteer.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the case of bad weather conditions, COVID restriction changes or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed.  Please make sure your team contact information is up to date in RobotEvents.com in the event we need to contact your team. 

Refund Policy

Event payments are expected when you register for this event and must be completed a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event date.  Unpaid teams will be removed from the event, allowing space for teams on the wait list.  Due to the financial commitment on the part of the event venue, no refunds will be possible. Thank you for your understanding. It is essential that all teams check in before 8:00 am. 

Health and Safety Policies

All attendees must have been fully vacinated for covid-19 or have a negative test with-in 3 days of the event.  The teams mentors will be required to certify their team meets the covid rules

All attendees will be required to wear masks that cover the mouth and nose during the event. Attendees will be encouraged to social distance as possible and wash hands/use hand sanitizer. Pit areas may be moved outdoors depending on weather/space available. Their will be NO Spectators, we will be plannng to livestream the event as possible.
