Información general
Competition Information
The UNL Cornhusker Competition is hosted by the UNLVEXU team and brought on through help from the university and the College of Engineering. The event is hosted in the brand-new Kiewit Hall facility throughout multiple stories and rooms. The event will run simultaneous to many informative opportunities about UNL and college life as an engineer. We encourage participants and their guests to learn firsthand what taking education beyond VEX looks like by interacting with staff, professors, and students alike.
The competition itself will be 4 fields split into two divisions where 64 teams will make the elimination matches. Each team will play 6 qualification matches and the timing for judging, skills, and matches have been finalized in the agenda tab. The plan is to open up more skills fields during lunch and before the drivers meeting. The plan is to have judging open for the duration of lunch with a small closure before lunch for our volunteers to eat. Teams must bring paper copies of their notebook to be judged and the team to be considered for the corresponding awards. Spectators may not be able to directly see the match fields at all times but the live feed of the event will be shared throughout the venue instantaneously and available on a slightly delayed YouTube live stream. Please bring a way to power your pits table from floor outlets. VEX VIA should be working for our event. It may go down intermediately or refresh inconsistently as we may have to use alternatives to the on-campus internet for reasons out of our control.
Parental/Guardian Consent
Per the UNL Youth Activities Safety Guidelines, students will not be allowed to participate in the event unless the linked form is completed. This form needs to be completed for each student and is not covered by the VEX release. Coaches will be required to supervise students who have not had the form completed separately from the competition space until they find a ride home or have the form completed. Please ensure all particpants have had their form filled out so they may participate.
A complete list of students who have had their forms filled out will be available upon request and will be communicated with coaches up until the event through email. Students not competing at the tournament are welcome to interact with the recruitment portions of the day at the event. All participants must adhere to the same university safety standards or they will not be allowed to enter the event space. All visitors must stay within the allotted space for the event and adhere to the VEX manual for conduct.

Concessions
We will be having concessions for lunch, more details will follow on the options. The current plan is to have enough supplies and options for competitors and guests to not leave the event and get food. The City Union and nearby downtown will have other, partially overlapping with out event, options. We will update you soon on where we will be getting food from, what we will do for breakfast, and if we will have another alternative dining option at a campus food hall for spectators, not students.
