2575: SG6 Clarification for Double Possession

<SG6>

While at a tournament our team was DQ for double possession because we were clamped on a mobile goal while fighting for a positive corner. We had the goal clamped on the back. There is one goal already in the positive corner we were fighting in the other alliance's robot rushed to the corner and hits the goal out of the corner both goals have at least one ring on them. Our bot comes to push the other alliance's robot out of the corner to put the goal in the corner with the intake in doing so the goal that was in the corner gets pushed into our intake. We back off and move to pin the other alliance from a different angle. The other alliance robot moves which causes the goal to go back into our intake.

To us this is normal game play because we were all fighting/defending one of the positive corners and not done intentionally on our part or theirs but it was called as double possession.

Can we please get clarification on this issue or point us in the direction to some place it is already answered.

Here is video of the match.

We cannot and do not overrule decisions made by Head Referees at events. Per rule <T1>, "Head Referees have ultimate and final authority on all gameplay and robot ruling decisions during the competition" (not the GDC).

That said, If a Drive Team Member believes a Head Referee has made an error during a Match, rule <T3> gives them the right to appeal the ruling. Should this come up again at a later event, we'd advise you to become familiar with our guidance in the following related Q&As.
