2466: About possessing three Rings

1281A
27-Jan-2025

<SG6>

Situation 1: In a Robot Skills Match, if a Robot is already in Possession of two Rings and has not placed them onto a Mobile Goal, does intentionally Plowing other Rings during movement count as Possessing three Rings? (The Robot uses a raised or flat part to Plow Rings on the ground.)

Situation 2: In a Team Match, if a Robot's intake is already in Possession of one Ring and attempts to use a mechanism to clear a Corner with four stacked Rings, and the clearing mechanism is designed to only contact two Rings, but there is still one Ring on the Robot, would this situation be considered as Possessing three Rings? (This scenario happens frequently when many Robots try to collect Rings while clearing Corners at the same time.)

Situation 1: No, Plowed Rings do not count as Possessed Rings.

Situation 2: This depends on how many of the stacked Rings in the corner are considered to be Possessed by the Robot, which we previously discussed in Q&A 2182 and Q&A 2307. For example, a Robot in Possession of one Ring that proceeds to possess an additional two Rings when clearing a corner stack will be in Violation of rule <SG6> for Possessing three Rings.
