2430: SG3 Clarification

<SG3>

In SG3, it states that a robot may not break more than 2 planes while climbing the ladder at once. This effectively limits the expansion to 32 Inches and the intent is to prevent level skipping. However, on the vertical section of the ladder, it is possible to obey both of those rules and go from being climbed on rung 1 and being climbed on level 3. This is done by having the robot use 1 arm actuation to lift it off the ground, and then clamp on to the vertical pole right below the third rung. The robot is then pulled to a level 3 climb with no part reaching level 4 before being cleared of level 1 and 2. Would this be legal? It still obeys the spirit of the game by requiring multiple actuations to achieve the climb but may be considered "skipping" a level 2 climb. Thanks, Team 5327K

Thank you for pointing out this contradiction in the game manual. The red box and all of its contents will be deleted from rule <SG3> in the January 28 game manual update. The remaining language of <SG3> will not change.
