2114: Threshold of crossing the autonomous line

<SG7>

The game manual defines the autonomous line as "The pair of white tape lines that run across the field, and the space between those lines".

How far can the robot go in autonomous while still being legal under SG7? For the scenarios below, assume that the robot in question is on the red alliance.

a) Contacting the white line on the red alliance's side of the field

b) Contacting the space between the two white lines

c) Contacting the white line on the blue alliance's side of the field

Our team is interpreting SG7 to mean that all 3 of the above scenarios are legal, as both white lines and the space between them are part of the autonomous line and thus not on the opposing alliance's side of the autonomous line. Is this a correct interpretation, or is SG7 more strict than this?

Thanks, 8889A

Rule <SG7> states that, "During the Autonomous Period, Robots may not contact foam tiles, Scoring Objects, or Field Elements which are on the opposing Alliance’s side of the Autonomous Line." As you quoted in your question, the Autonomous Line is defined as "The pair of white tape lines that run across the field, and the space between those lines."

Therefore, contacting either tape line or the space between them is not a Violation of rule <SG7>.
