Can yarn we used as an acceptable type of rope/string as described in rule R7?

Answered by committee

Provided it follows all Robot rules, including all requirements of <R7e> and this season's official Q&As, yarn can be an acceptable type of rope/string for use on Spin Up Robots.

Because the diameter of yarn may vary widely across its length, we encourage you to carefully inspect your yarn before using it on the Robot to ensure that it measures at least 3mm in diameter at its narrowest point. Also note that, based on its composition, yarn may stretch or deform between matches or events; yarn (or any other string, really) that is legal in one match may change under use and be deemed illegal by the Head Referee or inspector at the next match or next event.
