Are we allowed to use and cut the 2021-2022 Tipping Point ramp plastic on our robot? Is it legal if we cut a 12"(inches) by 24"(inches) off the ramp and use the cut section on our robot?

Rule R-9 E; E.) Shattering plastic, such as PMMA (also called Plexiglass, Acrylic, or Perspex), is prohibited

Answered by committee

Thank you for your question. Rule <R9> allows Robots to include custom-made parts cut from non-shattering plastic up to 0.070" thick.

The material used for the tops of the Tipping Point platforms is 0.063" polycarbonate, which is legal for use on VRC Robots provided the total amount of plastic used on the Robot could fit within a single 12"x24" sheet.
