We are excited to announce Talon Tussle!, a VRC Tournament hosted by Carson-Newman University and Alchemy Global STEM Institute. 

This is an in person tournament in Jefferson City, TN on the campus of Carson-Newman University. The tournament will take place all in one day, starting with an early morning inspection and finishing around 5PM. We have a new improved layout and larger pits for this year!

Running a tournament event takes a team of volunteers. We are always in need of volunteers to assist the day of the event. Lunches are provided for all volunteers in addition to drinks and snacks the day of the event. 

Volunteers for the event will need to be present by 7:30AM until the end of the event. 

  • In order to offer judged awards at the event, the event partner asks that each team provide one adult volunteer to aide with this process.
    • Volunteers for the Judge role must be 18 years of age or older an not in High School
      • The Judge Advisor must be certified through the REC Foundation.
    • Head Referee must be 21 years of age.
      • The Head Referee must be certified through the REC Foundation.
    • High School Team volunteers will judge ONLY Middle School Teams.
    • Middle School Team volunteers will judge ONLY High School Teams. 
  • Field Reset Volunteers are needed and can be range from upper elementary to adult age.
  • Score Keepers are needed and ages can range from highschool age 16 to adults age.

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Notebooks Submission Dead Line is: 12/9/2023 @ 5:00PM Eastern Time.
