Allgemeine information

The VRC High School State Championship is a two day event at the Potomac School in McLean, VA. Teams must qualify for the tournament by participating in a regional event by March 1, 2025.  Teams qualify by winning awards at a local tournament or by invitation based on the highest skills scores posted in Virginia during the season.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Richtlinie für not-/schlechtwettersituationen

We will update any cancellations on the RobotEvents page and via email. In the event of bad weather we will attempt to modify the event to fit within this weekend.  In the event of a complete cancellation details will be emailed to teams on how to proceed.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event: 

  • We will issue partial refunds to teams who cannot attend the alternate date.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • Partial refunds of $270 will be issued up to February 16, 2025. Any teams cancelling beyond this date or not showing for the event will not receive a refund.

Teams that do not pay will not be allowed to participate.

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews:  Engineering Notebooks (EN) will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the “My Account” panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Teams that qualify for States must submit their ENs by Wednesday, Feb 26, 2025, at midnight.  Team interviews will be conducted in person during the event.
