Welcome to The Ram Robotics High Stakes Challenge

The Ram Robotic High Stakes Challenge Event is happening in Interlachen, Florida which is conveniently located near several popular attractions. Residents can take day trips to places like St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States, or the bustling city of Gainesville, home to the University of Florida.

Registration Information:

All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics and the Robot Events website and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the Robot Events website.

Competition Preparation:

All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX V5 parts.

Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

  • 7:30 am  Robot Inspection Begins (Must Be Inspected Before Skills Challange)
  • 8:30 am  Opening Ceremony and Drivers Meeting
  • 8:45 am  Skills Challange Field Opens (Stays Open Through Lunch)
  • 9:00 am. Concession Stand Opens
  • 9:30 am  Qualification Matches begin
  • 12:00 pm Break for lunch
  • 1:00 pm Qualification Matches continue
  • 2:30  pm  Qualification Matches finish
  • 2:45 pm   Alliance selections
  • 3:00 pm   Elimination matches begin (Skills events Close after Qualification matches finish)

All volunteers, referees and judges will be feed lunch.

All reasonable efforts will be made to inform teams of any cancellations due to inclement weather. Refunds will be given in event of cancellation.

Please contact me if weather is a concern, and please monitor the event status on Robot Events.com Cancellations will be posted there.

Refund and Payment Policies

Payment Deadline is 21 Jan 2025.

If your team has not paid by the payment deadline they will be moved to the waitlist.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Full refunds will be granted in the event of a cancellation due inclement weather.   
Refunds minus $5 RECF fee if coach cancels before event day. 
 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds for no-shows on event day.

Judging Format

 

  • Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.
  • Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation no later than Wednesday January 22, 2025 by midnight via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. 
  • Our Judge Advisor is well-versed in the rules and fully prepared to guide the judging team through the meticulous process of selecting the top teams deserving of each award.
