Allgemeine information

Congratulations on qualifying for the North Florida Regional Tournament!

We are so proud of all of the hard work from all of our teams.

Please note:

Be at your match on time. If no member of a Team is present in the Driver Station at the start of a Match, that Team is considered a “no-show” and will receive zero (0) points. The other Team in the Alliance will still play and receive points for the Match.

Robots on the field must be ready to play. If a Team brings its Robot to the Field, it must be prepared to play (i.e., batteries charged, sized within the starting size constraint, etc.)

Robots must be placed on the field promptly. Repeated failure to do so could result in a violation of the game manual.

We will be running matches on or ahead of schedule, so please have students arrive at the queuing tables 5 minutes ahead of their match.   This is a championship event, so please ensure that all team members understand that matches will be run on time.

Pit Areas

The team Pit Area will be located in the cafeteria and all skills and teamwork matches will be in the gym.  It is each team’s responsibility to make it to their matches on time.  We recommend that you download the VEX Via app.

Download VEX via from Google Play or the App Store.

T-shirts

Regional Championship apparel will be available at the event.  Apparel will be available in different colors.

Concessions

The CASH ONLY concession stand will be open from 8-4 for the Regional Tournaments.

Judging Format

Remote Judging for the North/Central Florida Regional Championships

To ensure a fair and thorough evaluation process, the initial round of judging for this year’s North/Central Florida Regional Championships will be conducted remotely. This approach allows our judges ample time to make well-informed decisions while promoting an equitable experience for all participating teams.

Design Notebooks

Please ensure your Notebook URL is up to date on RobotEvents.com. Judging for digital notebooks will begin on February 18. If you register for the tournament after this date, be sure to update your link at the time of registration.

While we will make an effort to contact teams with problematic links, we must also respect our judges’ time and efforts. Please review the submission guidelines to avoid any issues:

Team Interviews

For details on remote team interview requirements, please refer to the official judging guide:

Guide to Judging Remote Judging

Sign up for your interview here: Interview Signup

Before your scheduled interview, you will receive a confirmation email with your assigned time and the Zoom link. Please join the meeting 10 minutes before your scheduled time.

  • At least one team coach or mentor must be present for the entire interview but may not speak during the session.
  • Upon joining Zoom, teams will be placed in a breakout room with the judges once all required participants are present.
  • Punctuality is crucial—late arrivals may result in a shortened interview or cancellation. Missed interviews cannot be rescheduled.
  • Teams may join separately from home or together from a single location, based on their preference.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. We look forward to seeing you at the competition!

(The following questions are from last year.  When this information is updated, registered teams will get an email update.)

For the Adult / Mentor:
Will the Team Mentor or Coach please state their full name?
What is your team's number with its letter? (It is a number and a letter, like 1234A.)
Team Coach or Mentor, we want to remind you that you must remain in the room for the duration of the interview and any recording of this interview is prohibited.  Do you agree to these requirements?

For the Team:
When designing your robot, what do you think was the most unique solution you came up with?
How did your team develop your strategy for this season's game?
How did your team decide how to create your robot's design?
What part of your robot that you built are you most proud of?
How were you able to make sure that your project got completed on time?
